Overview

Wadi Feynan, once a prominent copper mine in the Roman Empire and among the world's top three, is situated south of the Dead Sea and east of Wadi Araba. Today, a segment of the wadi falls within the Dana Biosphere Reserve, featuring eco-hotels and lodges supervised by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN). Long regarded as a potential source of essential copper reserves, the area underwent thorough scouting and assessment by the Natural Resource Authority in Jordan. Wadi Faynan and its counterpart, Wadi Ghuweir, are celebrated for their diverse landscapes, including sandstones, waterfalls, palm tree gardens, and narrow gorges.

The route
