Overview

From Wadi Rum, were the rugged beauty of narrow canyons and ancient rock drawings intertwines with the enduring presence of Bedouin tribes. This timeless desert landscape has been home to various human cultures since prehistoric times. The route culminates in Aqaba, Jordan's historic port city on the Red Sea Gulf, with a history dating back to 4000 B.C. From Byzantine rule to Islamic conquest and the decisive Battle of Aqaba during the Great Arab Revolt, Aqaba stands as a testament to the region's rich heritage. Today, it plays a vital role in Jordan's tourism triangle, alongside Wadi Rum and Petra, and remains a crucial hub for industrial and commercial activities as the country's sole seaport.

The route

This intermediate-level ride, tailored for cycling enthusiasts, presents a rewarding challenge with its off-road terrain and distance. Commencing 10km after Wadi Rum village, the trail winds through the rugged desert, featuring intermittent soft sand patches along the tracks. Passing Titen village, a brief 5km on-road segment leads to another off-road stretch, culminating in a delightful descent towards Aqaba. The journey offers a thrilling mix of terrain, ensuring a fulfilling cycling experience amid the scenic desert landscape.
