Overview
Ajloun Castle, also known as Rabad Castle, dating back to the 12th century, was built by the Ayyubids and later expanded by the Mamluks. Strategically located on a hilltop in Mount Ajloun District, it safeguards three wadis descending the Jordan Valley. Originally constructed to control trade routes, Bedouin tribes, and protect Ayyubids from Crusaders, the castle endured battles and earthquakes. Recent restoration allows you to marvel at its wonders on your Jordan travel.

The route
Embark on an advanced-level biking adventure from Ajloun Castle to Azraq River. Enjoy a thrilling descent from the castle, traverse mountains through olive farms and oak tree forests after the visitor center, and navigate double-track off-road sections to reach Zarqa River. However, don't underestimate the challenge – the trail features intense uphill sections that will truly test your limits.
